Only in some cases is it allowed to hospitalize a person suffering from addiction for alcoholism treatment without their consent. Relatives of an alcoholic may file a petition with the court requesting compulsory hospitalization and explaining the reasons for such a decision.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When is <strong>treatment of alcoholics without desire<\/strong> possible?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>in situations where a person is unable to make a decision about treatment due to a mental disorder;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if the actions of a person under the influence of alcohol are dangerous to others or to the person;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in case of alcohol intoxication, forced detoxification may be necessary to free the body from alcohol and prevent the consequences of its effects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the court may order compulsory treatment in cases where a person has committed a crime or posed a threat to society while intoxicated;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the event of a threat to the patient&#8217;s life and health due to severe alcohol poisoning or actions caused by alcohol abuse.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person can be placed under the supervision of medical specialists who will conduct conservative therapy, detoxification and rehabilitation, even if they have not expressed a desire to undergo treatment. However, it should be borne in mind that <strong>alcoholism treatment if the patient refuses <\/strong>can cause resistance on the part of the patient and stimulate emotional and psychological problems. Therefore, even in the case of sufficient treatment, it is necessary to create a supportive and compassionate environment to help a person cope with the situation and make them want to continue treatment and get rid of addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also important to remember that long-term positive results of alcoholism treatment can be obtained only when a person is really ready to change his or her life and give up alcohol.
